DEMOCRACY DAY MESSAGE FROM THE STUDENTS' UNION GOVERNMENT

Today, as we commemorate Democracy Day, we celebrate the enduring values of freedom, justice, participation, accountability, and the collective power of the people.

Democracy is more than a system of government; it is a reminder that every voice matters and that meaningful progress is achieved when citizens actively contribute to the development of their communities and nation.

As students, we remain critical stakeholders in the democratic journey of Nigeria. We must continue to uphold the principles of dialogue, tolerance, responsible leadership, and active civic engagement. The future of our nation depends greatly on the character, vision, and commitment of its young people.

On behalf of the Students' Union Government, I encourage all students to remain law-abiding, informed, and committed to building a society founded on equity, integrity, and mutual respect.

As we reflect on the sacrifices of those who fought for democratic governance, let us also renew our determination to play our part in strengthening our institutions and advancing national development.

Happy Democracy Day.

Yusuf Tobi Jamiu,

President, Students' Union Government,

University of Abuja.
