OFFICIAL DECLARATION OF WINNER – SUG DIRECTOR OF TRANSPORT ELECTION

The Jamo-Led Students' Union Government (SUG), University of Abuja, warmly congratulates Abdulganiya Mutiu Faiz (Aluta Experience) on his successful election as the SUG Director of Transport for the 2025/2026 academic session.

Following the successful conclusion of a transparent, peaceful, and credible electoral process conducted by the Electoral Committee, Abdulganiya Mutiu Faiz emerged victorious with 3,283 votes, earning the confidence and mandate of the students.

The Office of the Director of Transport remains one of the most strategic positions within the Students' Union Government. It is responsible for championing policies that improve transportation services, ensuring the availability of affordable and safe shuttle operations, engaging transport unions, addressing mobility challenges, and serving as the bridge between students and transport stakeholders.

The Jamo-Led Students' Union Government (SUG), University of Abuja administration believes that the confidence reposed in the Director-elect reflects the desire of students for a transportation system that is efficient, accessible, and student-friendly. The administration therefore encourages the incoming Director to prioritize sustainable transport reforms, promote accountability among transport operators, and work collaboratively with the University Management and relevant authorities to improve students' commuting experiences.
We equally commend all contestants for conducting themselves peacefully throughout the electoral process and for demonstrating that democracy thrives where ideas compete rather than conflicts.

As our administration concludes its service, we remain optimistic that the incoming leadership will consolidate on existing achievements while introducing innovative initiatives that will improve students' welfare.
